A Conservative M-P from Ontario is calling legalization of marijuana next July transformational.
Dr. Colin Carrie from Oshawa questions whether the Trudeau Government is rushing legalization and whether time has been wasted.
Dr. Carrie also questions why the government doesn’t just decriminalize marijuana until age 21 so young people aren’t burdened with a criminal record.
The Canadian and American governments are poles apart when it comes to marijuana and that could complicate crossing the border.
Derek Riedle of the online marijuana magazine “Civilized” says the U.S. Government views marijuana in a far different light than in Canada. To the American government, it’s a Schedule One Narcotic more damaging than cocaine.
Riedle says he has heard stories of people being denied entry to the U.S. after admitting to a border guard of smoking marijuana in the past even though they were never convicted or even charged.
