The New Brunswick Floods Appeal has crossed the $1-million mark and over 500 households have received money so far in the wake of historic flooding.
Bill Lawlor, provincial director of the Canadian Red Cross, says in terms of appeals specific to the province of New Brunswick, this is the largest they’ve ever had.
Lawlor tells us over 1,100 households have registered with the Red Cross and you can still register if you haven’t done so.
“We actually believe that there are some people out there who have not yet contacted us,” says Lawlor.
Lawlor says they’ve been reaching out to families that have registered with them to see if they’re eligible for $300 in re-entry assistance.
