RCMP have determined the cause of what sounded like several explosions in the Boundary Creek area.
Numerous calls came in about loud explosions being heard last Saturday afternoon.
Mounties found shell casings in a gravel pit and thought a substance was shot at in an effort to trigger an explosion.
But on Wednesday, a man came forward to police and explained he was shooting tannerite, a substance used for firearms practice, which caused the noise.
No laws were broken and the investigation has concluded.
RCMP are thanking the man for explaining what happened.
