In the wake of a storm that flooded portions of the province, causing washouts and damaging bridges, restoration and repair efforts are underway.
The government is asking people living or working near streams, tributaries and rivers to watch for ice movement or ice jams which could rapidly lead to localized flooding.
Residents are also being warned to stay away from fast flowing water, and to stay off river ice, as the deteriorating conditions of the last few days have made the ice unstable and unsafe.
Motorists are also being reminded to stay at home and off the roads as much as possible, especially in southeastern parts of New Brunswick and around Fredericton where 32 roadways are either closed or reduced to one lane.
Crews are visiting each damaged area across the province to perform interim repairs if possible, and assess the level of damage.
Finally, the province is asking people who see debris, or damaged culverts or other such things to report them to your local authorities.
