“Winter isn’t over yet.”
That’s the word from Environment Canada meteorologist Linda Libby, who says they are currently watching a low pressure system that is forecast to hit our region on the first full day of Spring, next Wednesday, March 21st, into Thursday, March 22nd.
Libby says its too early to predict precipitation amounts, however, the temperature will be dropping before the storm. “We may be under the influence of an arctic high pressure system from Sunday into Tuesday giving us slightly cooler than normal temperatures.”
She adds by Wednesday, temperatures will start to come back up, and in the Charlotte County area and along the Fundy coast, the storm will likely change over to rain at some point.
Libby also tells us this isn’t the end of the snow either, “We still got at least probably one, if not two more storms in March, and you know, it isn’t unheard of to see some late season ones that could occur in April, and unfortunately in some years, May as well.”
