The Liberal candidate for Saint John-Rothesay Wayne Long says it isn't surprising that federal Conservative leader Stephen Harper made a campaign stop in Saint John at the Irving Oil Refinery.

Long giving Stephen Harper credit for coming here, adding, he hasn't really been around the Port City or any part of the province in the last 10 years. He believes people see through it and see it as an election ploy and "it shows that the Conservatives are reeling and trying to cling onto anything."

Long also saying that the Liberal party supports the Energy East pipeline and he says he is 100-percent behind the pipeline coming to SJ-Rothesay, in response to Harper's comment that neither the Liberals or NDP supports the pipeline.
