The New Brunswick Court of Appeal has rejected appeals by former Common Councillor Donnie Snook to have his 18 year sentence for child abuse reduced and the Attorney-General’s appeal to have Snook spend more time in prison before coming up for parole.
The Court of Appeal using the terms deviant and evil to describe Snook’s crimes involving the sexual abuse of 17 young boys over 12 years, saying he used his very positive public personna to dupe people and gain their trust that allowed him to continue his predatory ways with impunity.
The Court of Appeal goes on to describe Snook as using personal guile to continue the abuse.
17 young boys were abused over a period of 12 years.
