The federal and provincial government are making a joint investment of over $220 thousand dollars each to the Fundy Region Solid Waste Commission. The money will be going towards improving the regions recycling program, and will help build a sorting conveyor and install a baler to process recyclables more efficiently.General Manager Mark McLeod says this funding is coming at a great time, because just over a year ago, the solid waste commission almost lost the recycling resource.
McLeod says the site was actually paying to have recyclables taken away, but were able to plow through. He says the $600 thousand dollar project should be operating by the end of October.
