Saying it’s a sad day for democracy, the MLA for Saint John Portland is stunned with the latest move by Premier Graham. Tourism Minister Stuart Jamieson was forced to resign from his cabinet post on Friday in light of his stance on the revised NB Power deal. Jamieson believes the decision should go to a referendum and Trevor Holder tells CHSJ News, in seven and a half years, he can’t re-call his government pressuring him to do something he didn’t agree with.
CHSJ News has left several messages for the Saint John Fundy MLA to get his reaction but have yet to hear back. Jamieson has told our news room recently he is expected to make a decision on whether or not to re-offer in the fall election by next month.
