Common council should be receiving a final report on the cost of a public – private partnership for Peel Plaza soon.
City Manager Pat Woods says the numbers from the request for proposals are due in the next day or so.
Woods says the city’s finance department will then review the costing on the public-private partnership followed by a meeting of the steering committee on Thursday — and — finally a recommendation to council hopefully by next week.
Council will then make a decision whether to proceed in partnership with the developer or proceed with financing the project on its own.
The development will see a new police station and parking garage constructed in addition to a new provincial justice complex.
