The provincial government is giving 300-thousand dollars to the Rainbow Park project in the South End — the official announcement is scheduled for tomorrow afternoon.
But — Supply and Services Minister Ed Doherty used his Saint John Harbour nomination meeting tonight to reveal the funding — and — he didn’t stop there.
He also says the provincial government will also contribute 200-thousand dollars to a Rockwood Park endowment fund — and — will fund a population growth strategy by the Saint John Multicultural Center.
And Doherty says the official sod turning for the new provincial Justice Complex at Peel Plaza will be held within ten days.
Doherty will defend his seat in the September 27th election — he was first elected in a by-election in November of 2005.
