The city is going to tackle the flooding problem in the Honeysuckle/Sherbrooke drainage basin with a major construction project which will be done in two phases starting in July.
Micheal Baker is the Project Engineer and tells CHSJ News it’s hoped the flow of storm water will be better controlled when it’s all said and done. The work includes a new underground storage system for the collection of storm water which will be released into Manawagonish Creek.
The work will be taking place from Fundy Heights all the way down to Highway 1 along sections of Sand Cove Road, Young Street, Lawrence Street, Cushing Street, Ontario Street, Sherbrooke, Lewin Avenue, Montreal Avenue and Molson Avenue.
