If your friend asks you to take care of their dog, then stops returning you calls, what do you do?
The answer is call the SPCA– rather than leave the dog tied outside for days without food or water as one city woman did in January of this year.
The young woman testified she was put into a corner and didn’t know what to do.
She was already on parole for another offence when the dog was abandoned. When police tracked her down she went to jail for three weeks for the animal cruelty charges.
The judge waived the mandatory $100 victim fine surcharge saying he hoped the jail time taught her a sufficient lesson.
The dog was adopted shortly after the incident in January.
