The brand new Y facility going up on Churchill Boulevard is starting to take shape.
A contract for steel has been signed and you can see daily changes now as you drive or walk by the construction site.
CHSJ News asked Y President and CEO Shilo Boucher what might happen to the current space in the Prince Edward Mall.
Boucher says they have been their for 8 years and definitely got a good return on their investmentment.
She says someone else could benefit from the existing fitness centre which they will not need after the move and if there is enough interest they could keep the 60 space child care centre open.
The Y’s capital campaign has almost reached the 5 million dollar mark with the goal being to raise 7 million by the end of the year.
The new facility is set to open in the fall of 2015.
