Leadership expert and former Canadian Auto Workers Association President Buzz Hargrove paid a visit to the Port City today to talk about New Brunswick’s pension issues and what other provinces are doing to ensure the long-term sustainability of their plans.
Hargrove tells CHSJ News the government here reached a compromise with its hybrid pension plan–and they did that by consulting with workers and hearing the issues out, rather than attempting to impose them from the top down.
He says the number one priority is to ensure our retirees aren’t neglected–because if changes to pensions are made irresponsibly, we’ll see a huge outcry from workers and taxpayers.
