The Atlantic Salmon Federation sounding the alarm over threats to the fish population which has been rebounding after hitting a record low more than a decade ago.
President of the ASF Bill Taylor tells us one threat is the Greenland fishery which has been growing over the last couple of years and most of the fish caught are Canadian salmon. He says frustrations are mounting on both sides.
Fisheries at Labrador and St. Pierre and Miquelon are also causing concern says Taylor who adds that the country needs to take action to better control and manage their salmon fisheries to make sure conservation is paramount.
