Former Liberal M-L-A Abel Leblanc has joined the NDP and will be seeking the party’s nomination in Saint John Lancaster.
Leblanc tells CHSJ News he has a message for voters in the riding as well as Conservative M-L-A Dorothy Shephard and Liberal Peter McGuire that he’s back, anxious to help people who need it and sees his chances of winning as pretty good.
Former Mayor Ivan Court, who sought the Liberal nomination in Saint John Lancaster, says he’s supporting Leblanc because he delivered for the riding when he was an M-L-A. Court points out the previous Liberal Government spent close to 500 million dollars in Saint John. He says it’s time to get rid of the silent six as he refers to the Conservative M-L-A’s in the city.
Leblanc accuses the Alward Government of ignoring Saint John Lancaster and muzzling Shephard.
