Sergeant Evan Scott of the Kennebecasis Valley Police has been assigned as one of the officers escorting the three families of the fallen RCMP officers to and from the funeral home yesterday and then again to the Moncton Coliseum today for the funeral service itself.
Sergeant Scott considers it an honour, posting on his Facebook page that he has never seen a community come together and embrace their police service with people in Moncton honking their horns, waving, walking over to shake their hands and thanking them.
When they were in a restaurant for lunch, the waitresses came over and gave them all a hug.
