A rollercoaster of emotions is how Assistant Commissioner Roger Brown with the RCMP describes the past week and a half.
Both Brown and Superintendant Marlene Snowman writing letters of thanks to the public for their show of support following the mass shooting that left three of their colleagues dead and two others injured.
Brown says while it’s usually their job to look after the community, the community looked after them in the days following the shooting. From the gifts placed outside of the Codiac detachment on Main Street in Moncton to the thousands of messages of condolence they received via social media, Snowman calls the support both overwhelming and very comforting.
The RCMP says the three maple trees that were placed in front of the detachment as gifts will be planted at the home of the families of Constables Douglas Larche, Dave Ross and Fabrice Gevaudan.
