54 year old Anthony Furness, who worked a Vice-President of Finance for Saint John Energy, before landing a job with Heber Light and Power in Utah, is facing a charge of theft by deception in that state which is a second degree felony.
The Wasatch Wave in Utah reports Furness of Heber City is accused of using a Heber Light and Power credit card to pay for thousands of dollars in personal expenses between 2010 and 2013.
Citing court documents from the Attorney General’s office, Furness was the company’s chief financial officer between 2006 and 2013.
According to the court documents, Furness admits he was making personal charges on the company credit card but his general manager had approved.
The circumstances of his departure from Saint John Energy have never been publicly disclosed.
