30 year old Ali Amin Alabbas–a student at UNB–has been charged in Provincial Court with assault causing bodily harm in connection with a stabbing incident at UNB Saint John yesterday around 11am.
Sergeant Jay Henderson explains after the incident happened at the library, they tracked down Alabbas near University Avenue and Polaris Court around 1pm.
Police say the victim and his assailant knew one another and it wasn’t a random act of violence. The victim’s injuries aren’t life-threatening, although he was transported to hospital by ambulance.
Alabbas will be back in court to enter a plea on July 14th.
