The average diabetic makes about 200 decisions a day ranging from checking blood sugar when they wake up to taking medications and deciding about meals.
Certified Diabetes Instructor Rob Roscoe says summertime can make it harder to stay on task with it being more relaxed. During the winter months, on the other hand, its more of the same thing day in and day out so they can predict when they will have meals and what they will be up to.
Roscoe says most diabetics are trying really hard to manage their disease well. He tells us that means watching your diet, trying to get some exercise and maintain their medications to keep things under control and then life gets in the way.
Roscoe is also a pharmacist and says part of his job is helping diabetics manage their lifestyle which means positioning the medications well.
