A tropical storm warning has been issued for Saint John to go along with the rainfall and wind warnings.
According to the latest forecasting, Saint John is expecting as much as 90 millimeters of rain. Wind gusts tomorrow afternoon are expected to be as high as 80 kilometers an hour.
A tropical storm warning means sustained winds of 65 kilometers an hour which can down tree branches and topple power poles. The stormy weather will cost Saint John a visit by the cruise ship “Carnival Splendour” which has been diverted to Bermuda.
The most damaging winds at 100 kilometers will be along the south coast of Nova Scotia. Arthur is expected to reach land in southwestern Nova Scotia.
