The Bank of Montreal contributing $50,000 to the new Y facility currently under construction on Churchill Boulevard.
Mike MacPherson of BMO tells CHSJ News they want to put money back into the community.
He says it’s great avenue for a lot of different things calling it a great investment.
Steel is going up on the new structure on Churchill Boulevard and Saint John Y President Shilo Boucher says the site did not suffer any damage from Arthur over the weekend.
She says they arranged for pumps to be on site removing water from the big holes in the ground but the trees were not damaged.
128 people will be hired for the construction of the new building.
They need to raise another two million dollars to reach the goal of 7 million and Boucher says they hope to do that by the end of this year.
