The Nature Conservancy has a big job ahead with the damage caused to trees along the walking trail on the coastal side of Black Beach.
Andrew Holland of the Nature Conservancy tells CHSJ News the trail can still be used but you might come across damaged trees that are pretty low and overhanging the trail.
15 trees have been removed and there there were 30 plus with branches hanging and Holland says trees that were 90 to 100 years old have been lost.
Holland says they still have to determine how the wildlife coped with the storm but that will happen after the storm damaged trees have been taken care of. Concern has been expressed about birds.
