The Mayor of Grand Bay-Westfield is reminding her town that you can’t burn the debris left behind from Arthur.
She tells CHSJ News that ash fell on her deck and it was from a fire a young family were burning on their property nearly a kilometre down the road.
She says it’s important that people be reminded that you just can’t burn brush, branches and wood adding it’s hot and dry and they still have leftover debris from the ice storm.
Anyone still without electricity in the town can charge their phones or tablets and get water for flushing toilets at th Brundage Point River Centre and at the Community Centrum.
