The new men’s shelter set to open up on Waterloo Street is behind schedule and will now open in September.
In the meantime, the temporary location on Somerset Street remains open with up to 8 men staying there a night.
Outflow’s Executive Director Jayme Hall tells CHSJ News the project is delayed because it’s taking longer than expected to do renovations on the old church that will be their new home.
He says they want to make sure everything is up to code so they are working with their contractors, building committee and the city to make sure everything is how it has to be.
The temporary men’s shelter is available for men needing a safe place to stay. It’s located at 344 Somerset Street and opens at 8pm at night until 8 the next morning. Men coming in for the night can get a small meal, a shower and a place to sleep.
