The Opposition Liberals are accusing the Alward Government of using taxpayer dollars to pay for TV ads to promote changes to the provincial pension plan and now with a pamphlet being mailed out on shale gas development.
Liberal Finance Critic Roger Melanson calls this a misuse of public money and questions the timing in light of tax increases and all the talk about reducing government spending.
Melanson says political parties in the province are restricted to spending 2 thousand dollars a year per riding association annually between elections.
