Members of the federal Green Party will be gathering in Fredericton this weekend for their national convention with Federal leader Elizabeth May making her way from B-C to the convention by train.
The Provincial Green Party, meantime, is looking for candidates and organisation in Saint John. Party leader David Coon tells CHSJ News from what he hears from New Brunswickers, they’re tired of what he calls the ping pong that goes back and forth every election cycle.
Coon believes this election will be historic because people are looking for something different and he would like to see more people come forward to run in the Saint John ridings.
He says it’s likely Sharon Murphy, an outspoken environmentalist, who has run before will be the Green Party candidates in Saint John East. She ran in the provincial byelection in Rothesay that saw Provincial Attorney-General and Health Minister Ted Flemming elected to replace Margaret Ann Blaney.
