Drugged driving in on the rise and MADD Canada says police need new methods for detecting it.
National President Angeliki Souranis says the data shows them the average user would have to make 550 trips after using marijuana before they are charged once.
They advocate improving the system for detection by adding new tools like the oral fluid test for roadside use.
They also suggest establishing ‘per se’ laws that set limits for most common illicit drugs such as the .08 % legal limit set for alcohol.
