NB Power warning residents not to take tree removal into their own hands when power lines are involved.
Meghan Gerrish who is with the power utility tells us it can be extremely dangerous and says you have to always assume a downed line is energized. She says their work is going to need to carry on for quite some time with many trees on and overhanging power lines due to post-tropical storm Arthur. Customers who are concerned about tree removal can contact the customer interaction centre at 1-800-663-6272.
As of early this afternoon, only three outages are listed on the NB Power website. The day after the storm struck, more than 135,000 homes and businesses were without electricity.
