Can Saint John be branded like other cities such as New York and San Francisco? At least one member of Common Council seems to think so.
Ward 4 Common Councillor Ray Strowbridge would like to see people buy such things as clothing and other products adorned with the Saint John logo which is copywrited. He believes promoting Saint John in this way might engender civic pride as well as boosting tourism.
Strowbridge says if you set up an online store where the merchandise could be purchased and the logo added, the city would not have the upfront costs of buying stock. This is how the National Basketball League brands itself.
