Looks like the upward trend is continuing for the Port of Saint John in the container sector.
The Port experienced a 12% growth in container tonnage in 2013. Port CEO Jim Quinn tells CHSJ News it’s not that we’re seeing different types of products moving through here, necessarily–it’s a lot of the same things, including forestry and frozen products, just more of them.
Quinn says Port Saint John has been lucky to dodge some of the difficulties that other ports, like Halifax, have experienced in recent years–and the staff at the Port has been working hard on marketing Saint John as a destination.
