The closure of St. Pat’s on the West side will no doubt send students and their parents into a tizzy wondering where they might be going to school.
An email was sent out to parents citing structural concerns mean it’s not safe to re-open it in September
Saint John Lancaster MLA Dorothy Shephard tells CHSJ News she understands the news will cause anxiety.
She says the positive side is that they do have time to make arrangements.
Zoe Watson of Anglophone South School District says she knows parents have a lot of questions.
She says they don’t have a lot of answers right about the transition but she says every effort will be made to make sure it’s as smooth as possible.
She tells us they do know other schools on the West side do have space.
St. Pat’s was operating as a Kindergarten to Grade 5 school and has 170 students.
