The Paramedic’s Association of New Brunswick recently expressed disappointment in the development of implementation plan–which will take several months– before we can see an increased role for advanced care paramedics in this province.
Camille Haddad of the New Brunswick Medical Society is echoing the sentiment that the higher level of training for first responders would benefit our emergency rooms, saying that more highly-trained first responders would allow many life-threatening issues to be treated before the patient even arrives in the ER.
Leaders on sides of the political spectrum have expressed full support for the introduction advanced care paramedics–and the Paramedic’s Association has said they don’t understand the delay in changing legislation.
It’s expected the implementation plan will take until mid-October to develop.
