The memory of a KV man and sailor will be kept alive at a new school.
The new K to 5 school in Quispamsis will be called Chris Saunders Memorial Elementary School.
Saunders grew up in the KV and served with the Canadian Navy before his death in the line of duty in 2004.
Education Minister Serge Rousselle revealed the name this morning saying this school will be a fantastic asset for the community.
He says it will be a lasting memory in this community and a very good way to remember someone who served his country very well.
Construction on the new school began last fall and is set to welcome students from Quispamsis Elementary, Fairvale Elementary and Lakefield Elementary in September.
