It’s been smooth sailing so far when it comes to flooding in the province but River Watch spokesperson Paul Bradley is warning from here on out we’re going to need to be more vigiliant and cautious.
Bradley tells us now that things are heating up outside water levels on rivers are forecasted to increase and there’s the possibility of ice movement along the Saint John River. He says that whenever ice moves there’s the possibility it may jam up somewhere and they’re asking people to be on alert.
Bradley says there are ice jams are on the Tobique River and in northern Maine but those have been in place since December and are currently stable. As well a few days ago there was one minor ice jam on the Nashwaak River and another on the Kennebecasis River but those weren’t holding back water.
You’re being advised to review your flood plan and have an emergency kit on hand.
