Poley Mountain is rebuilding after a devastating fire back in December of last year that destroyed the ski lodge.
A groundbreaking ceremony being held on the site for the new approximately $5-million-dollar lodge which is expected to be constructed by this December.
Poley General Manager Bill Anderson agrees that it’s a big project to get done in a short period of time however he says that’s why they’re starting now and they’re very confident in Bird Construction, which will be building the new lodge.
When it comes to morale since the blaze, Anderson says it has been excellent.
The new lodge will be 50-percent bigger and have two floors with glass windows so you can look out over the ski hill.
