The Huntsman Fundy Discovery Aquarium in St. Andrews is offering a unique experience in light of April as Autism Awareness Month.
The “Marine Learning Experience” is a pilot project developed by the Huntsman, NBCC St. Andrews, and the Dragonfly Centre for Autism.
Eva Frost from the Dragonfly Centre tells us it will be held tomorrow, Saturday, April 18th, from 2-4pm, and it will be specialized for children with autism.
She says it will be a private event, because some children on the autism spectrum don’t like big crowds or loud noises, so the event will be tailored to the special needs of the guests, and will be free of charge.
Frost says your child doesn’t need to be a client of the Dragonfly Centre, but if they are on the autistic spectrum, they are welcome to join in on the afternoon at the Aquarium.
If you’re interested, you can call Eva Frost at the Dragonfly at 529-8002, or, she says you can just show up anytime between 2pm and 4pm tomorrow at the Huntsman.
