The fear and anxiety over possible flooding is subsiding in Dairytown in a stark contrast to their experience last year.
While Sussex has some high water, it’s nothing compared to last April when the town had major flooding problems.
Mayor Marc Thorne says the highest level recorded so far was last Monday.
He says it was slightly below one of their markers on a bridge abuttment and each day it kept getting warmer but the water level went down and is now at a very low level.
Thorne says despite the warm weather, the creek keeps going down and unless there is a major rain event they are quite confident they will be fine.
