The Saint John East MLA and Finance Minister coming to blows in the provincial Legislature over changes to the pensions of New Brunswick’s retired public servants.
Glen Savoie calling on the Finance Minister to reveal how much taxpayers are on the hook for when it comes to those changes. Savoie says they and the pensioners learned by way of the media that a final offer has been made.
Roger Melanson disputing Savoie’s contention that the provincial government is dictating when it comes to the pension offer. Melanson says they held six constructive meetings with the coalition.
He says if there’s any financial impact it would be within their fiscal framework and budget.
