The Opposition Conservatives are hammering away at Premier Brian Gallant over whether a promise is a promise if it isn’t written down or recorded. The question is being raised over the assets of seniors being drawn upon to help pay for their long term care.
The Premier says only 13 per cent of seniors in the province will be affected and those who are not well off will not be asked to pay any more. Interim Conservative leader Bruce Fitch is disputing that only 13 per cent of seniors will be affected.
Saint John East M-L-A Glen Savoie is accusing the Premier of being in denial and warns Gallant he is in danger of being labelled because seniors know what rhymes with Brian.
The Speaker of the Legislature Chris Collins told Savoie his insinuation was way out of line.
