Former Provincial NDP leader Elizabeth Weir was in Nepal on Saturday when that devastating earthquake struck.
There are fears the death toll, now at 3 thousand, could go as high as 10 thousand.
Weir was at a hotel about 35 kilometers outside Kathmandu when the quake occurred. She’s in Nepal to talk about best practices for parliamentarians.
Over the weekend, Weir tweeted there were still aftershocks happening with the ground rumbling and she had to sleep outside for the second night in a row.
