Both daycares and parents are going to be hardest hit by a recent cut by the provincial government.
$1.9 million dollars is being slashed from the Quality Improvement Funding program, which helps boost salaries to daycare operators.
Janice Sutherland owns “Home With a Heart Daycare” in Moncton.
She says this is going to mean current centres to have to charges higher rates or even be forced to close.
“The government has promised 6,000 more spaces in daycare which we don’t need because there are empty spots in daycare now but yet they are dinging the daycares that are already existing.”
Sutherland says they plan to put up a fight against these cuts.
Meetings and rallies have been planned across the province in the coming days to express their concerns.
