A special meeting of the Anglophone South School District tomorrow night for a vote on whether the elementary schools in Browns Flat and Norton have a future.
Gloria Donald belongs to the Parent School Support Committee in Browns Flat. She describes the school as being the heart of the community and young children being bused to Westfield is not ideal. The commute will range from at least 45 minutes to one hour for one student in particular.
Donald points to an online petition to keep the school open that has 5 thousand names on it.
The vote by the District Education Council is just a recommendation. The final say will rest with provincial Education Minister Serge Rouselle.
