WorkSafe NB says safety in the workplace is getting better in the province and New Brunswick, among all the provinces, is first or second as far as safety is concerned.
Murray Goodwin, who was injured while working as a tugboat captain, spent six years in a legal battle with WorkSafe NB after launching a five million dollar lawsuit which he lost. He says the court action cost him his home and he would like to know how much a battery of lawyers used by WorkSafe NB in his case wound up costing.
Goodwin is critical, claiming WorkSafe NB is inundated with appeals and expecting workers to report unsafe conditions is unrealistic because if they come forward, in his view, they would never work in this province again.
