The Young New Brunswick Progressive Conservatives are stirring the pot by trying to get the word Progressive dropped from the Party name.
Director of Protocol Adam Pottle says they want to return to the traditional roots of the Conservative party and make the name more identifiable.
Pottle says this would bring the Party name into alignment with the Federal Conservatice party which dropped the word Progressive after their merger with the Canadian Alliance in 2003.
However, President of the provincial PCs Jason Stephen has been quoted as saying he will not be supporting the measure when it comes up at the Annual General Meeting on May 23rd in Fredericton.
