You might love having your dog or cat sleep in your bed but it can be a problem if they take advantage such as prevent the owner from getting in their bed.
Animal Behaviourist Darlene Arden says when getting a new dog or a puppy to keep them in the room but not on the bed.
She says the dog is lonely because it doesn’t know that it’s home so with the crate near the bed you can reach down and pet them so they know they are not alone.
Arden says your pets should lose the priviledge of sleeping on the bed when they start to take it over.
