The number that appears on your phone’s call display may not be what it seems.
As a matter of fact, you may have noticed your own phone number showing up recently.
Atlantic Better Business Bureau president Peter Moorhouse says telemarketers and other scammers have found new ways to disguise how they call you.
He says the party who is calling you has software on their end that can make any number they want appear on your call display in an effort to confuse you.
Moorhouse says the tactics used are getting more deceptive since more of us are now ignoring calls with 1-800 or 1-888 numbers.
