Imagine the pain of watching your child struggle with mental illness and then having your child kill your husband.
It happened to Donna Craig two years ago and she told her story to hundreds of women at the A Day In Her Shoes fundraiser at Market Square.
Craig says she coped because of the things she knows to be true and the first is that her son Dana loved his father.
She says Dana was mentally ill and she never blamed him– not for an instant.
Dana Craig was found not criminally responsible in the death of his father.
Donna Craig says her faith has helped her cope adding the grief will always be there but you dwell on it less.
The event raising over $20,000 for programs put on by the Canadian Mental Health Association.
